We are growing our reach to Idaho in 2023! The Idaho Board of Dentistry allows registered dental hygienists to perform laser functions restricted to gingival curettage and bleaching under direct supervision. Nationwide, dental hygienists are taking the necessary educational training to acquire certification for laser use. Applying laser to preventive and therapeutic hygiene services improves patient outcomes, increases hygiene production, and adds value to the appointment.

As the demand for laser training among dental hygienists expands to more states, Dedicated Dental Hygiene is on the forefront of the latest technology and trends. We have created a convenient hybrid course schedule for allowable states. This includes you, Idaho!Dedicated Dental Hygiene is on the forefront of the latest technology and trends. The format that will be offered for Idaho registered dental hygienists will allow you to complete a portion at home and the hands-on instruction in-person with Dedicated Dental Hygiene faculty. Typically, in-person laser courses result in a 12-hour day. Our partial online/in-person course reduces these long days of study and skill acquisition and allow you to stay fresh to practice hands-on. After completing the online didactic portion of training on your own time, you will meet the Dedicated Dental Hygiene team and other clinicians for a day of hands-on coaching.

This two-part curriculum is as follows:

Part I: Online

  • Physics
  • Light Production
  • Explanation of lasers and types of lasers

Part II: In-Person

  • How to use the laser in a real-life patient
  • How to educate your patient with clear and concise description of the service
  • How to educate your patient on the health benefits and build value to the appointment
  • How to implement lasers into your daily practice in way that realistically fits into your daily practice
  • How to establish productive communication between front office and clinical staff for ease of patient acceptance
  • How to use Low Level Laster Therapy and the Photo-modulation attachment in personal and professional applications
  • Live, hands-on training with the laser

Dedicated Dental Hygiene is an AGD PACE-approved continuing education provider and you will receive 12 hours CE and be laser certified at the completion of this course. During your day of training, you will have the opportunity to use the lasers, receive one-on-one instruction, and network with other professionals. At Dedicate Dental Hygiene your comfort is one of our number one priorities. We chose quality venues and keep our classes small so you can get personal attention. We will be announcing our Idaho dates soon!
